Strange 'tick' sound....

I am getting a strange "chit" kind of sound (like the one u get whn a spark happens) from my setup.... driving amp thru dac via usb.... i hv a feeling its the usb cable... ne ideas??

Soulofmusic, 'Quiet' confusing? In the title you have mentioned tick sound, but in the post you have mentioned chit sound! Which of these is this?

But seriously, is the sound continuous or does it happen only occasionally?
Did you try changing inputs?

Check your power cable connection to start with. Loose contacts at the power plug maybe?
