Hello everyone! I recently bought a 55" TCL tv(L55P2MUS model) for an effective price of near about 725$(after a great offer from amazon on its prime day). Now the TV looked very good to me with very good black levels and rich colours in its first impression. But i recently observed vertical striations while watching a youtube video(maybe they were in the video itself). However on testing the tv further with white background video on youtube i noticed a regular patterned grid or matrix of many squares of size 3-4 inch each covering the entire tv. The effect is very subtle and visible only on light background with backlight reduced very much.(near to 0). however once i see it it is difficult not to unsee it on bright light also. On colours other than grey/white, the effect is not at all visible. It isn't even visible while watching videos or playing even if i observe closely.
The effect i am talking about can be seen in the following image- Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet (more visible when u we move our head a bit). So please tell me is the panel faulty or is this the nature of tv(got to do something with local dimming etc?). Should i return it? I would hate to return it as i got amazing deal and amazon won't replace it. any help would be welcome.
PS-I feel the white is also not homogeneous over the entire screen. on right quadrant it is more dirtish white.
Thanx!!
