Hi frens,

I'm currently on a hunt to get a 5.1 package....

http://www.hifivision.com/speakers/12631-5-1-setup-rs-50000-70000-a.html

I'll be getting a Separate Sub to the equation as i believe a better sub can be added rather than buying one that comes along in a package....

Budget between 20k to 50 K

Living Hall size in feet.

Length = 20
Width = 13
Height = 9

The Subwoofer should be able to....

- Shake my hall & make things vibrate.
- Smash my window panes.
- Make me want to watch movies after movies.
- Annoy my neighbours.
- Go deep deep deep. As deep as the Movie Demands.
- Eat the most demanding movie soundtracks for lunch.
- Invoke fear in my Dog everytime i get ready to watch a movie.
- Destroy everything in it's path.

What would be the top 5 subs that i should consider ?!?

Thanks ;-)

oops!

rana_kirti-

do not bother asking about opinions -

live life the way you want-

and do not impose yourself on the forum.

bro! - you are a man to make your own pacts in life -

looks like you need appreciation -

and not guidance -

so -

lead your (isolationist) life with -

the girl you detest (because she likes you)-

and again -

you should be driving cars -

and leaving the (impressionable) girls alone!

You are going to buy a 50k sub with a 5.0 worth 75k?

Don't you think that is an overkill?

Btw, consider B&W/Wharfedale subs. They are good. Perhaps Monitor Audio too.

Alternately, get 2 x Wharfedale SW150, although a single better sub may do a better job.

@ kittu....

lol.... that was funny bro.... made me laugh like crazy... you got a good sense of humour...

@ suri....

nice thoughts from you ... though i'd be honest i didn't quite follow them in their entirety...

@ techboy...

yes i agree that 50k might be overkill... but that is the max budget i've set. As you may notice i mentioned starting 20k and then upto 50k if need be...

B&W overpriced my friend....

i did hear the SW150 during a demo with the wharf 10.1 package and it did sound pretty impressive for about 21k i guess....though i wanna know my entire range of options before i can make a decision...

Also my 5.0 setup has till now not come up with a satisfactory package so i was considering to up that budget by 25k and make it 100k. I still have to hear out the Q Acoustics 2000 series at about 75k and the PSB Alpha Studio Theater Package.

If i'm not satisfied then i'll be upping my budget to about 100k and in that case it'll surely make sense to go for a sub upto 50k...

Therefore i'm trying to find a Excellent Sub between 20k & 50k so that i can system match either one of them it to either a package upto 75k or the package upto 100k accordingly....

Try velodyne ct 150, SVS PC 12 , HSU VTF MK3 and Cerwin-Vega CVT-300S. There was a good Klipsch sub for sale in the forum but I think its taken already...

Rana

You might fins that the neighbour's dog might come after you if it gets a bit too intrusive!
Good budget, you have a range of choices available, so it's worth spending some time auditioning and comparing and then narrowing down your options.

You can get something better than wharf diamond 250 with your budget. That too brand new. So I would skip it.

@ kittu

i looked into the products you mentioned and they all seem to have won rave reviews however except for the HSU VTF MK3 all the others seems to be very old models... Wouln't there be new models now which should be better then these ?!?

@ jitubisht

buying without an audition would be scary but i read about the reviews for the svs subs and it seems to be very good

Which sub are you using ? Also where the sb12-nsd delivered from ? Are the Dealors in Delhi ?

@ kdlsrinu

Hi there...

What's the price for a new one at this point in time...?

What is the best price you can offer ?

Is it still under warranty ?

Could you ship it to delhi ?

@ techboy

any suggestions...?!?

Also guys which brands of sub woofers available in india are priced close to their prices abroad...? ;-)

Thanks.

The only dealer in India for SVS and HSU in India is HSU.
You should contact either Sharath or Sandeep over there.
I almost went with HSU VTF-2 Mk3... SVS is a recent addition to their dealership and hence as an introductory offer they are giving 10% discount with free overnight shipping to anywhere in India. Hence I went for SVS PC12-NSD..
Shipment is expected this month end.

jitu,

SB stands for Sealed Box and PC stands for Ported Cylinder
Both are 12 which means 12" woofer
Both have the same 400watts DSP amp

IF music is the preference, then nothing beats a sealed sub, I needed a sub for movies only.. am strictly 2.0 when it comes to music. Cylinders are much better suited for movies...

about the first 100 customer limit crossed yet or not is something you'll need to check with Audire and confirm..

Jitu....

I also solely need the sub for 100 % movies duty only...

- any particular reason you say that "Cylinders are much better suited for movies..."

- I mean any links, or any research done on this aspect....

Thanks ;-)
