Suggest Bose speakers

2600 watts!!!!! what speakers are you using?
take the headphone out from laptop and connect to sony. Or you can buy a USB sound card from creative and that may be a little better.
I think it may sound better than bose.

Bose Companion 5 cannot simulate a real 5.1 experience, atleast considering your room size. The power you mentioned for Sony RV 5 is in PMPO, the better way to rate the power of amplifier is RMS, this system churns out 140 W RMS @ 6 ohms which should produce good sound.

Why dont you audition BOSE and see if it really fits your listening style? In reality there are much better multimedia speakers out there in the market.

Yes you are right, I should audition Bose
can you pls suggest which are the models I should try in audition in this budget ?

i think for 13 k there are a solid pair of bose computer speakers you can get.. and it will create good sound.. way below your 20 k budget.. its a bose hence has the joneses factor and i have heard bose and i know they are competent.. your hall is very large... but for a close proximity soundstage the bose should do just fine..

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
