Suggest good SW within 12 K

Hi

i am looking for a decent Active sub woofer within 12K. I do not want to shake the house/ but I want to feel it while listening to music/movies.

My existing Subwoofer is part of YHT-299 from Yamaha has 50 watts output power and 100 watts (dynamic power), 16cm cone specs.

It is good for movies, but for music I have to keep the volume knob to 75% and increase the db to +6.5 to +7.0 db level in my AVR (HTR-3066). hence looking for another SW to pair it up with Pioneer AJ Speakers.

I am getting following pioneer SW around Rs.10,500/-

S-51 (20cm driver, 150RMS, downfire)

MS3SW (Power Output(Peak) 330 W. Power Output(RMS) 200 W, 30cm Cone)

Have some one here used this extensively to tell the difference? Can you please suggest any other SW around 12K mark?

Astonia Audio is the only sub-woofer you can get close to your budget (or) look for an used one from classifieds section in our forum.. You might get better deals....

Do you have the FS (or) BS of Pioneer AJ 5.0 ?

Check if you can get the polk audio psw110. But budget will be an increase again. If you are good at getting discounts from dealers. You may be able to get it @15-16k. Astonia is a good option. But sometime back one fm got an issue of leaking glasswool from bass port. Which i think is not a good sign at all. Good subwoofer's dont come cheap

hi i am having complete Andrew jones set up, FS-52, c-22 & BS-22. I am driving with my YHT-299 AVR (HTR3066) along with Yamaha supplied subwoofer. Though the overall sound is good (even at volume -25db my family asks me to reduce the volume) sometimes i feel the SW can be better.

My dream is to have two different set up (one room with YHT-299 and the other room AJ 5.0 with a new AVR and matching sw) but not all dreams comes true so soon. This dream would require another TV in my own room + one avr + 1sw which can be setup along with my existing AJ's set

sometimes i feel if there is any worth to have two setup's at home as i don't see much people in the forum having one.

How about a projector. If you are opting for dedicated room. You can dispose your current ht and buy a decent soundbar for your present room. Then upgrade the avr to something that wont struggle to drive the aj's.
