A freind has offered me to sell his
ONKYO- Surround Speakers- Model No.SKR-101 x2 numbers
ONKYO- Centre Speakers- Model No.SKC-101
ONKYO Amp- Model Number- TX-DS676
ONKYO Dual Drive Powered Subwoofer- Model Number SKW 320
ONKYO CD+DVD Player -DV-S555 Champagne Gold Colour

I need speakers (I have space both for floor standers and bookshelf) and I'd like to go about it with a focus on a smaller budget. I'd like your suggestions on whether the above Onkyo will be a good deal for me as I am getting it for just 30k from my freind (the set is 10+ years old)... as to what I should go for. I listen to mainly Metal and Rock music and the occasional Western Classical music. My room is a bit like a studio apartment (One room, kitchen, toilet) and is located on the terrace. The sound doesnt travel out very much luckily. I have looking at hifimart and they seem to have a few speakers (8 ohms impedance) in the range of 20-25k and that seems pretty ok with me thought I would like to stick to the lower end.Floorstanding

The reason why people have not responded- is like you said the stuff is over ten years old.

My suggestion is you buy new stuff- Start with stereo Amp and two satellite speakers

Look at Denon PMA 520 Stereo amp
with a pair of Paradigm Cinema Speakers

Or a Pair of Paradigm Millenia One 2.0 Speakers

try pairing it with klipsch or denon satellites to add speakers to enhance the sound but as suggested by other member if you want to build something better start new.
Your system should be good enough with some tweaks on your amp and sub settings.Rock on
