I wish to upgrade from a cambridge 640 amp which is currently powering my dynaudio audience 5.1 setup. SEtup includes the full range Audience 82. I'm getting a decent price on the Sunfire TGR 3 and wanted to ask:

Has anyone ever heard the sunfire Dynaudio combo?
Is there a huge difference in SQ and features between TGR 3 and TGR 401?
If you do not recommend the Sunfire Dynaudio Combo what do you recommend for a 5,1 setup where 60 percent of listening is done on stereo sound.

Thanks

Sunfire makes serious amps...TGR3 is no exception. However, it is a slightly older model and would not have the recent advances in the field of AV (trueHD, DTS MA, upscaling algo etc.). If you are not bothered about these, then it is a great buy. If you do bother about these, then you can use it as a power amp and use a decent processor (Emo UMC1). But in this case, it might not be very cost effective as you can get other multi-channel power amps for a lesser price...

Regarding them being able to drive your Dyns, they sure can and with juice to spare...

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
