hello friends.....
am plannin to get my full fledged hometheatre
have a budget of around one lac.. can stretch it by 10k max...

i have almost finalised on the yamaha rxv 2600 reciever (rs 60000)
philips DVP5965K/98 HD dvd player.. (rs 6000)
jamo s 708 as the front speakers...(rs 26000)

now i wud request the pros to advice me on the setup as to what do they think of the components.....
will use them equally for music and movies
also which center speakers and surround speakers i shud go for.....
and these front speakers have a 10inch inbuilt woofer .. so will i need an additonal sub woofer for the system...
will i get sound that i shud get after spendin this much money on a home theatre.....

ur advice will greatly affect my final decision....

thanks for ur openion mate....
i m hopeful that i will get the desired results out of these components....

well i m aware of the 2700......
well it has the lan connectivity and has high HDMI support.....
but to be honest thats not of a botheration to me and i m happy with the 2600.....

Param,
Diff is not in HDMI but support for mp3 play back and IPOD connectivity and more power along with XM support. XM won?t be decision making criteria in India though.

I am planning for replacing my old RXV 1300 (paired with my old HK amp as external amp for front speakers in present set up) with latest model i.e. 2600 or 2700. Or go full fledge pre-pro way. Still evaluating options and seeking WAF for that upgrade.

Any ways keep looking there are good number of options available in India now a days.
Regards

dear khanmadari
apart from the fearutre difference..... the 2700 is also out of my budget so m happy with the 2600
at the end of the day i want value for my money and good sound for my ears...
hope ful of gettin with what i have decided on....
cheers!!!

I have not heard the revceivers so it would be difficult for me to comment on. However khanmadari seems to be more familiar with the receivers.

dear cyrus..
no worries mate....
thanks for ur feedback on the speakers though.. that info was really help ful....
as far as the reciever goes.... khanmadari has already informed my abt the reliability of yamaha's.....
may be other fellow members of this forum can inform abt their experiences with yamahas.....
