guys help me out with this ---
according to dolby ideal placement of surround speakers is 110 degrees behind listening position (LP) with speakers facing the listener

according to some sites and my speaker manual its slightly behind LP and facing each other

but the strangest is that according to my marantz AVR manual it's facing each other either in line of LP or slightly ahead but never behind LP!!!

now which should i follow???

coz if i go according to dolby and place my surrounds say 2ft behind and then set the AVR's surround spkr delay to 2ft then it may just think that its 2 ft ahead of my LP.

man this gets quite annoying. there are 100 opinions abt each A/V "fact" and each fact has 100 people for and against.

Sat/BS surr can be placed 3ft above & slightly behind listeners position.
Bipole can be placed similarly OR on back walls.
Dipole shld be placed in the same line of listener on side wall & 2 to 3ft above.
