Looking for a new subwoofer and I've narrowed it down to just 2 subs now:

SVS PB-1000 (27,000 php)
SVS SB12-NSD (31,000 php)

Room:12 x 12 x 10

So far these are what I've found available locally. Considering the price which of these would be best? Looking for that home theater "feel" but I use it in music and movies.

Current setup:
Receiver: Wharfedale AVR 5110
Front: Wharfedale Diamond 10.1
Center: Wharfedale Diamond 9.CS
Rear: Wharfedale WH-DFS
Sub: Wharfedale Powercube SPC-10 - Defective

I might be able to add a 2nd subwoofer (Wharfedale SPC-10) once I have it repaired.

Amongst these, I would prefer PB1000. :)
For HT/music use, I would always prefer a Ported sub at this price range. If purpose is "only" music then I'll go for a sealed.

If you can find and add an other Wharfedale SPC-10, would be good.. It would make dual, identical subs..

You can fix the existing sub and find another Wharfedale Powercube SPC-1.

The above will do wonders in your setup. rather than going with a single SVS pb 1000.

If its between svs pb 1000 and NSD 12, then I would choose the NSD 12 for the better driver and power.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I auditioned both pb-1000 and sb12-nsd today and I went with the sb12-nsd due to the better performance in music in my opinion.

Wont it be an overkill to use 2 subs in a 12x12 room?

Nope.. Benefit of dual subs is producing even bass across the room..

Most articles on the net, suggest dual subs regardless of room size..

I have a slightly wider room than the OP, 14 x 11 and run dual subs (Front corners). Bass in the room is defnetly good than what i have heard before without sub's..

Congratulations. How much is the cost of the sb12?

It cost me 31,000 php, 2 thousand more than the PB-1000 at 29,000 php.

@elangoas
I have read the same things about 2 sub setup. But that is long down the road for me. maybe in the next year. for now my next in line is to upgrade my cheap receiver.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
