I auditioned the SVS SB 13 Plus today at ARN Systems. For those who are interested you can contact Ali...very friendly chap. He offered to let me take it home on a BIG down payment, which is totally refundable. They have a facility where they will drop it home and pick it up too :yahoo:
Hats off to him to try this out in India!!!

The sub is terrific. I had him pair it with bookshelves and it was simply amazing!! The sub simply made up for the lack of bass of the bookshelf. Apparently he will be getting SVS subs in a months time and would be another dealer in India.

I hope their prices are more realistic than Audire. Knowing ARN and its management folks pretty well, I'm sure it will be!

Hi ShaQ
I have had a similar experience with ProFX when I was selecting speakers and I have the Focals and Polks brought home for the auditions.

I hope many more dealers would provide such service

If i remember it right the price was 1.2 or 1.3 (i could be wrong). I didnt pay attention cos I only wanted to audition. I wont spend so much. My eyes are set on FV12 & VTF2 :D

You can consider the New SVS PB12-NSD as well.

As per the site shipping starts in late Sep 2011.
SVSound - Box Subwoofers

You may check with ARN systems, whether they will be stocking this model?

i checked this with Audire,...and it is not going to be anytime soon. Guess he has to clear the older stocks.
If ARN does start with SVS, obviously he should be able to obtain it. I felt he was priced a bit higher than Audire...but this was without bargain!

Hi, even i auditioned the same in ARN. But those guys do not any thing about the sub. What ever i asked them the person whoc was giving demo used to go to the system and check it.

Any ways, i can not invest 1.25 lk for the same. I am seriously looking for an active sub for my HT. I have an Onkyo SR505 amp. I have short listed couple of brands like, Wharfedale Diamond GX10, Powercube SPS 10, Velodyne Impact 12, Polk Audio DSW PRO 550 or the very own Indian Sonodyne 210 or 2815. I am damm confused. will any one give their expert opinion and advice. Eagerly waiting for replys.

In addition to product details on the SVS website, detailed reviews are available on internet, better to spend more time listening to the sub during the audition.

If you like bass a lot and ready to spend little more, you can consider SB12-NSD, PC12-NSD, PB12-NSD etc. They are in the range of 40-60k.

The subs you listed also not bad, may consider klipsch as well.

Other popular makes are HSU Reserach, Elemental Designs etc

Hi,

Thanks dear HTUser. But what about the after sales service of these imported stuffs. Bcz there are hardly any authorised dealers for these. Even Wharfedale, Velodyne or SVS do not have any authorised dealer in bangalore. How can we relay on local dealers. Thats way i am concidering Sonodyne since it is an Indian company and their service fecility is available. What do you say, is it worth investing.

Thanks

I shortlisted SVS, HSU and ED, later decided on SVS due to availability of Indian Dealer (Audire) and they are giving warranty as well.

For warranty, we will have to ship the SW to Audire, that is going to cost a lot, but much less than shipping to US (for imported ones).

Dealers are available for Polk, Wharfedale, Velodyne, Klipsch etc in India, not sure about Bangalore dealers

ARN should consider taking rythmik dealership for india, i am sure they will get many buyers from this forum itself.

Considering the fact that there already exists a svs dealer in India they will have an edge with a servo based sub which is rather rare if not considering uber expensive velodyne or paradigm.

Although servo sub having less decay is rather subjective there seem to be enough reviews on the internet confirming this theory.
