I'm owing past two years with Google Chrome cast audio without any issues.
For listening music it's more than enough for me.
It's a balanced active speaker.
The inbuilt DAC in the chrome cast audio do best. I didn't checked with lossless files.
Now I'm using for listening internet radios.
I'm ba lazy guy and don't keep audio files for listening
