Yay, finally got my Turnberrys today... At first listen, they seem a little harsh but then I am hoping they burn in a little and mellow down.. Also coming from the Harbeths, maybe my ears are tuned to the Harbeth mids... But the lower frequencies which I found missing are now there and I think I need to add a couple of bass traps or absorbing panels behind the speakers....

Will post my feedback once the speakers are run in for 100 hours... Hoping that the harshness is gone by then..

Looks great..give it 50 hours before you make any judgement :) it apparently takes 200 hours for full break in .
I found the best results when seated at slightly above or below tweeter height toed in such that the right speaker fires into the left ear and vice versa i.e. They both cross before your head .

Will try that placement Arjun....The initial harshness is gone after about 5 hours of playing... Will run in for 50 hours and then report...

These are one pair of speakers which never fail to catch my eye! I haven't had the privilege of listening to one but just by the looks, they seem to ooze warmth :D hence your observation of harshness is at odds with their visual imagery and I hope the burn in brings back the order in the universe.

Congratulations on the lovely purchase.

Congratulations panditji! Your focus is amazing. You have been less or more determined on this system for a long long time. I am amazed how you never lost your sight of what you were looking for.

Congratulations Panditji, your speaker research thread was like a reference article for buying speakers in this range.

Tannoy Turnberry look majestic, obviously they'd be sounding great as well.

Did you put a mat below the speakers and any changes in sound signature at the listening position with change of the angle? As pointed out by Prem the glass table might be playing a spoil sport.

Thank you all for your wishes... I have now pushed the glass table towards the rack to clean up the area in front of the speakers and the sound did become more open...

I did not put any mat below the speakers...Will be playing around with the placement after running it for about 20 hours and see what best suits me...

Looks classy Panditji! Congratulations!

I wouldn't play around with room acoustics/bass traps until after the speakers have burned in. And as you know, speaker position and cables can play a big role in defining the sound. A warm cable can do wonders.

Looking forward to your review after the 100 hours :)
