Even I am looking. Tried immediately after I got TS+HD, however till date, didn't come across it.
Nevertheless these software and Internet based features seriously lack conflict checking feature which works only from the STB (probably they can't get this info from STB and can only PUSH the commands). If you schedule more than 2 programs at a time, you are bound to loose some of those randomly.
Dude, a simple app which just use the Phone's application platform only is not bothered about different phones. You are talking like developing op codes for different cpu model machinesthis maybe because android has so many phones. testing the app for each phone can be a nightmare for a developer. but seriously, if they price it at something like Rs. 50 ($1), i'm more than willing to pay.

One app will work on all as anyway Android works on JAVA virtual machine and NOT the phone hardware. JVM needs to take care of interacting with the hardware.
OT - Only system apps which needs to interact with the hardware of the phone needs to be thorough with all type of devices to work well on different hardware (again such apps are very rare for Android as usually each type of hardware has a different similar system software developed by part time programmers).
Most of the apps on Android is free and TS can also provide it if they INTEND toMight come very soon, I am positive about it as it may not take more than a few days for someone to develop the software.
Right, system apps needs to be tested on all different type of platform. A regular app like for TS+ wont. Don't confuse it with a system app. Its NOT. Just an interface to send updates through internet to TS uplinking facility to get pushed on our STBs.cool, am not a developer so didnt know these details.
in any case, i thought those innumerable comments on android market saying "not running on droid x etc." meant that programs had to configured differently regardless of them being system apps.
anyway, i guess making android apps for tata sky makes more business sense too, coz frankly there are way more android users in india than iphone's.
The Android app works great to record shows.
Features a Universal Remote function as well that requires purchasing an IR dongle (available through Tata Sky).
