tenor TE7022 ,24bit/96 DAC

ebay seller Along had a ready kit on offer .

As 24 bit /96 is buzz word ,so i took the call , board is like

The dac is listed as "USB spdif Tenor te7022,WM8761 "
Just plug and play unit , isochoronous USB dac
all capacitor in audio section are ELNA silmic
crystal is TCXO , better clock.
Ext power regulator is 7805 , this i will bypass with teddy reg/salas

The sound:

much real better than PCM2704,smooth ,detailed ....better sound stage
Captures small details like air ,texture in a better way.
wanted to say one line "Stop blaming at usb-DAC " after mod applied it will reach CDp levels for sure.


observed that the harshness of PCM2704 Dac gone , new dac unit taking power from USB too .
After 100 hour burnin mids will open up further,very good value for money!



Kit has ext power option just at the flip of switch, how convenient!
just you can put in small box ..you are done.

Mods planned /p caps replacing with better one, a teddy reg etc

remember there is similar variant w/o decoder
kit has fullwave rectifier inbuilt, no need to build pSu,
in case you want to give external power ,flip the switch.
just feed 6vAC (connect a 0-6v transformer secondary for external power)

Do you recommend any fully assembled kit for spdif/coaxial DAC without the case (USB is not required as I already have ODAC). I am looking for one which can be used to connect my Toshiba blu-ray player for CD playback over spdif to the amplifier.

search for AK4393 and you will get various sellers - some give fully in kit form and some will solder the SMD chips while the rest you can do. The DIYaudio thread has some more mods.....but my poor aluminium ears are happy with the kit as is....
