Just has a chance to test this budget Teufel Decoderstation 5 Preamplifier from Berlin Germany. Was suprised to find it sounded pretty decent for 180. Ideal to go with small active loudspeaker systems :)

Interesting product, but looks somehow confused in approach. If it was meant just as a solution to source switching for computer speakers(active 5.1 systems) it doesnt have Hdmi inputs, which would be ideal with most contemporary sources. Also decoding options would be limited.
If its meant to be used as a pre processor, what would be good power amps to pair with it?

The Decoderstation 5 was launched in early 2009 and became very popular pretty soon. HDMI was not so popular in such small devices in those years.

At that time, Teufel also launched another budget 5.1 preamplifier called ControlStation 2 without inbuilt dolby/dts decoders for only 80.
