I had the honor of hosting Prem today while he was visiting Indore — it was truly a privilege. Never thought such a meet would actually be possible, after so many years of connect thru inmails and such for guidance, this visit was no different. We also had another forum member join in he goes by the UN: frend2001

let’s be honest, as a selfish interest, who doesn’t secretly wish for Prem to give their system a listen and suggest a few tweaks? Prem immediately noticed a slight glare in presenetion within 10 seconds — in his words, “feedback maar raha hain.” One simple yet brilliant suggestion followed, he suggested i place a copper coin under the speaker spikes. Voila — the glare was immediately tamed. Image further tightened with the clutter removed.

Both Ashish (frend2001) and I were genuinely flabbergasted by this almost comical “upgrade”: an 8¢ addition using 1¢ coins!

I’m sure Prem won’t mind this little secret being out. I’d encourage folks here to try it if your speakers are on spikes. Of course, not every system will exhibit the same issue, so results may vary — this tweak was specific to my setup: a fairly basic solid-state system driving Spendor A7s.

Jenson, it was a pleasure meeting Ashish and you. Thank you for the lovely lunch and your hospitality.

I am not sure if Ashish loves Sansui or his wife more ;)

hi, all of em.
I remember, a long time ago ( maybe 10 years) our magician Prem visited my home to listen to my humble Goodmans full range speakers.
After few minutes he asked me 'do you have an electrical tape?. I said yes.
He took the amp's power plug and put a few rounds of the electrical tape on the neck of the power cord and then plug..🔌.
Voila...
