The DAC Scam?

The follow up video to the original (first) one at the start of this discussion thread

Exactly the conclusion I have deduced by using switches to switch between equipments. audiophiles experiences are extremely susceptible to placebo. Speakers however do sound different and they are sill not a solved problem.

The thing is you can measure resolution, distortion etc objectively, but not musicality. So we go by our ear when deciding what’s musical. I cannot explain with measurements why I find the sound of my vintage Yamaha CD player (with Philips 1541A DAC) more musical than my CXC-CXN combo… but I know which I’d rather listen to. Someone else might have an opposite preference.

I found the assertions in the follow up video (above) very disconcerting. The initial instinct was to ignore it and move on as we tend to do with anything that causes discomfort. Then I thought why should I suffer alone in this discombobulated state?
Shared misery seems to console everyone.

The Norse God uses Yggdrasil . Will have to check with the other ones as some are still stuck on Vinyl and are not moving ahead with the times ....
What's parsi' fav dac? Well, don't bother it's too obvious..

All done to achieve sound of cymbals perfectly which I find lot of amps fail to do so.

You have let the speakers walk scott free??

this is very true. Musicality from my Marantz CD 63SE is far enjoyable than HDD (all own CD rips)>MacBook>DDC>Chord or Denafrips DAC.

With the assumption of same song from CD and same song ripped from the CD through DAC. I do not assume any streaming in this description. Probably the overall round music from older DAC (Marantz CDP) is more emotional and connecting than the ripped music via analytical DACs and my 1st preference of listening vinyl as major- again a benchmark for my brain to judge digital music.
