Hello,
I bought these speakers (IT-702) They have a built in amp. There are two rca inputs on the back along with two outputs and a sub output. My tv has no outputs on it so i bought a receiver. I hooked it all up and thought I would be able to use the pre outs on my receiver to run the speakers. everything looks good to me but there is no sound. Is this setup possible? or did I do something wrong. The manual says the pre outs need to be hooked up to an external amplifier, I'm not sure if the one in my speakers count but I can't see why not. I don't really understand anything about the kind of signals coming out.

Connect to Surround Back/Front Height Preout

Go to Pre Out Settings menu (Refer Page 50 of the Manual). Change Pre out setting to Height. My guess is that since the default setting is Surr Back there will be no sound out put if you are playing 2 Channel soud .

That pre-out is for a 7.1 setup only and it cannot be used to send front LR channels to use with a stereo amp or powered speakers. My Denon 1612 has this pre-out and it can be configured as surround back or front heights in a 7.1 setup.

What kind of players (BDP, DTH) you have? If they or the TV have optical or coaxial out then use an optical/coaxial to RCA converter to use your powered speakers.
