As a new member of the community (residing in VA) let me first say "hello". I am looking forward to participating in this and other forums.

Just now, after a 31 year hiatus, getting back into "listening to vinyl" again.

Actually, I was moving boxes in my garage and stumbled upon my nearly 500 LP collection from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. So, I decided to put a system (100% tube) together so that I can once again enjoy music from that era.

Now for my situation: I will have, soon, a pristine Thorens Table that I intend to use as the go-to player. I have, at this moment (all scored from local Goodwills), the following:

Dual CS714Q (Clean and runs, but the ULF arm and head-shell system is problematic)

Technics SL1710MkII (Clean, but cueing system has the cracked gear)

Technics SL23 (Ok, but not what I want for my main system)

Which of those three has a motor that can be used in a DIY table I want to try building for a backup/garage/shed system? Or, should I opt for something else?

I plan on using one of those three as a record cleaner.

As for my other components...my plans include a tube driven integrated amp, phono amp, and speakers with a sensitivity rating of at least 93dB.

Interested in seeing your responses.

Thanks/bluj
