U73 Error code - Panasonic BD player

Hi All,

I have been using Panasonic DMP-BD 35 for last 3 years and suddenly the player is not displaying the picture when I play BDs or DVD discs through HDMI. It shows U73 error. When I play DVDs through component, picture looks fine.

I did some search on google and Panny website and everywhere it said the problem could be the HDMI cable or the HDMI handshake between the player and the TV (Panasonic TX-37LZ80C).

I have tried the following..

1. I replaced the old cable with a new Panny HDMI cable and still the problem persists.
2. I have also updated the firmware to the latest version, problem still persists

I also spoke to Panasonic service center and they said they will charge 1500/- for service + any component charges,, which seems bit high..

Has anyone had similar issues and found a solution. Can you pls help...

i got that too when i connected 1.3b hdmi cable directly from my bd60 to epson prj directly. I then tried a 1.3a cable and it worked.
Not sure if this would apply to you, but it did for me..
