Hello All,

I am in a spot of bother !

The issue am sure is n00bish but pardon my ignorance as this is my first crack at putting-up a real A/V setup.
After having read extensively and doing a few trial and error sessions am still unable to set-up my equipment the way it should.
Please accept my apologies in advance if this thread leads to redundancy.

Components & Cables (I already have)

Panasonic 42X20D
Marantz SR 3053 AVR
Marantz CD 6003
Sony PS3
Kaiboer 1055 + media player
Tata Sky HD+
Speaker(s) : Mission M34i , Wharfedale centre channel
Bandridge RCA RCA X 03 qty
HDMI cable (s) 03 Qty (maybe more)
Belkin Coaxial Cable -01 Qty
Toslink cable 01 Qty
No matter which way I try no sound in Whafedale CC (the speaker works, have checked that). Not only this but whats the best way of setting up all these components.

Any help/guidance is highly appreciated.

Regards,
Sam Sarna

PS: Mod's pls redirect thred (if Required)

i too am a nube... but try following:
check the audio processing mode and ensure its not sterio
switch over to any ProLogic audio mode which should send signals to cc

disconnect the toslink cable from the ps3, and connect it to the AVR via the hdmi.
go to sound setting in the ps3, and select output as hdmi, and tick the relevant output codecs.

then play a game, blu ray or dvd(basically not something stored on the hard drive and check to see if your cc starts working.

Hey paritosh,

Thanks for the reply. I have tried diffrent modes, for example ( DVD , Bluy ray, 5.1 channel even tried selecting auto mode.) but nothing happens...no sound. Even tried playing a blue ray on my ps3, but no sound..neither speakers nor cc.

Hi Dhrup,

If am not mistaken, from your previous post, you put in noida. I'm in sec 25, possible lets have a cup of tea at your convience.

My AVR dosent carry audio signal in hbmi cable. As of now
PS3 > my plasma (Tv) through HDMI, PS3 to avr through toslink cable, which dosent work either..!

Generally helps if you eliminate the problem one at a time.

1. connect ps3 to tv through hdmi. if goes through fine, atleast we know ps3 does output sound via HDMI.
2. connect avr to all your speakers, and play radio; change the modes to make sure that you get sound through all speakers. It will help you test if your audio modes work fine and the speaker is fine.
3. connect ps3 to avr via hdmi (same cable as in pt 1). dont connect TV. check the same audio modes in pt 2.
4. connect ps3 to avr via hdmi and avr to TV via any video cable (hdmi/component or yellow composite).

Let us know in what step are you finding the problem, so we can help you better.

Thanks Sud, for the reply.

Will try all the options, you mentioned one by one and then come back with the output.
