Friends,
I have been using a Benq1070 at my place, already connected to a UPS (that I use for my PC as well). That's a single battery UPS.
Though, it was serving well till last week or so. However, it has started to give a beep off-late (even if there is AC Power ON). Either there is something wrong with UPS or its battery OR may be its consuming a lot more power (more power than what's getting inside - if its possible, am not sure).

Any suggestions on how much a projector draws ?
DO I need to buy another UPS (may be 1KW, that can help me for PC + Projector combined). If yes, what are my options, price range ? Where can I buy it from ?

Are there any vendors, who buyback old UPS & give new one ?

A projector draws on an average 300W. My optoma 141x states 260W in eco mode and 360W in bright mode.

For any projector owner reading this, a projector's lamp is the most sensitive equipment in it and reacts unexpectedly and erratically to power fluctuations, power cuts and voltage up downs.

Always and always have 1KV UPS ONLY for this item. That is the only one which will also work as voltage stabilizer along with serving as a UPS. The 20 Minutes it gives in every powercut is more than sufficient to take all your own sweet time to properly shut down your projector and other gear. I have APC 1KV UPS with the display mode - it shows exactly how much voltage is running in your line all the time.

Proper shutdown as opposed to sudden power off is the only thing that will improve life of your projector.

Thanks Htfan for your elaborative response. Appreciate that.
However, my requirement is only to connect a Projector + PC (but, I doubt if both of them will work together anyway). Even if they work, which UPS should I buy >> should I buy 1KV just like yours ?

As all other things for my HT are connected to a power stabalizer.
I have power backup at my apartment (that normally starts with a lag of 30-60 seconds).

My pj is connected on the home electrical circuit having a 800W inverter. This inverter gives me enough time to switch off the pj in case of a break in the power supply. The same for my PC. I haven't used the pj and PC together.

As some one already mentioned your projector draws around 300w.
The important thing here is the switch over time which has to be minimal/almost instant.
Get an APC 1KV pure sine wave online ups. It will have enough juice to not only safely shut your projector but in case you want to add something else to it in the future like a blue ray player etc.

I have APC BR1100CI-IN UPS for my Benq w1070 and its working fine.I baught it from amazon.in for 5400/-. I use it only to shut off the projector safely when power goes of suddenly. I never tried how long it run on battery for benq w 1070.

It is showing as 5975/- on snapdeal now....
looks OK to me, as compared to spending 7500/- on it.

Finally bought Microtek 1KVA UPS from Nehru Place @ 4900/-.

Lets see how it turns up, will update here.

I have a situation now:
This new UPS isn't working properly either. It shuts down immediately as power goes OFF. Not sure if there is some problem with the UPS only OR is it really juicy enough to work with my Benq 1070 ?

Can anyone of you guys give any suggestion for this situation ?

If it was working fine till now, try charging the battery for 24 hours and check it out. If still its giving issues, get it serviced under warranty.

Not sure if there was power outage earlier (at the time of using Projector). I noticed it from past 1-2 weeks that it immediately conks off.
Will try to get a ticket raised with Microtek.
