Urgent help please

Hi folks

Please if any one has used Yamaha NS 55 series of HT speaker package, what is material of speaker cone?

I got very cheap deal (not yet finalized) for NS C-55 center speaker.

From the google photo it appears that speakers is of old tech may be paper cone type.

Have you heard it? Not sure if it will meet your requirement of crisp clear dialogue.

If the surrounds are in good condition ( not rotted foam or hardened up rubber) and cone looks OK plus if the coils are not scraping ( due to excess power or over driven) then it should be OK. Old ( used for a while ) speakers are better than new ones !

Paper cones are generally very good ! If they weren't , they would have disappeared long ago ! Many good drivers still use paper or a paper mix with other materials.

If you think it sounds good and doesn't have the physical problems mentioned at the top, they should be worth it.
From the picture , they look fine ! I think they should sound acceptable too.
