Urgently need suggestions for 4L HT. Thanks :*

Thank you all. This discussion has given me much and much needed clarity on my setup. Might have to rethink the center channel and the sub. But my heart is set on the T3 + already bought it :)

Now, the main contention is the AVR. As music is my priority, should i go for a 9 channel amp to bi amp my front L/R?

How is the Marantz 6012? Looks really good but I am concerned about the price (please advise the best price) and longevity issues (gets pretty hot)
Congratulations on your purchase! what is the balance budget left? Please plan accordingly. An afterthought - Subwoofer would make excellent side table if that position works out in the bedroom. Might help you save some purchase of furniture when you can put SW to use ;-) (a pointer to convince family).
Can you post your question on Marantz Owners thread. You would get more pointed response out there on the model. I recall a couple of happy campers. A Couple of options for AVR:
  1. Yamaha AVR is one other beast that you can consider.
  2. A complex solution but would help you get more juice out of your FS - Buy Marantz NR1608 as you are going only for 5.1.2 ~ 66K in hifimart and go for a Emotiva or Crown power amplifier for the FS. You can read posts of @celester340 and @dheerajin about the power amplifier. Best part of this solution is that it would take a huge chunk of the load from amplifier section of AVR. Caveat: I do not know if they would have a synergy with your speakers. If I recall correctly, HTstore also has Emotiva. Why not demo your speakers with Emotiva power amp and see if you like. Caveat 2: Too many wires and heat source because of the multiple devices if you take this route.

Hi

For AVRs....you can consider from these two....

Yamaha - A1070 top line series....the other regular modes are the RX-V series

https://in.yamaha.com/en/products/audio_visual/av_receivers_amps/rx-a1070/index.html

FM @celester340 uses the same for his setup.......

Marantz SR 60xx or 70xx series....the latest are the 6012 and 7012...if you are not too much into features and gimmicks....you could possibly settle for their 6011 or 7011 models......

There are dedicated threads of Yamaha and Marantz Owners where first hand experience is shared....please read through the posts.....

All the best....visit the many dealers and check these AVRs and then decide.....also check Denon models which are above the 3xxx segment

With such a handsome budget, you can have one of the best Home theatre cum stereo setup . Few things needed in this regards. To spend 400k, you must allocate atleast 4 months for audition process of different equipment. Your home work is prime in this regards. Before audition you must list out components you are going to audition and list of dealers you are going to visit so that you can save your time and useless audition. Second priority work is allocation of budget accordingly to components like 30% for AVR, 20% for Subwoofer and remaining 50% for seven or nine speakers ( in your case) . As very rearly we came across specialist brands or equipment, we endup with either mideocore brands or mideocore or entry level products from reputated brands and later on urges for upgradation. In audio equipment we are not just spending money but investing for ultimate movie or musical experience so that we must aware with the latest technologies available in market . Don't purchase until you have not audition last equipment from list. Will suggest few components which will give you exact idea what you can have within your budget.
AVR : Denon AVRx4400h, Marantz SR 7012, Yamaha A- 2070, Onkyo TX RZ820 etc.
Subwoofer : SVS SB2000, Sunfire s12, Kispch R-112 etc
Speakers : Monitor audio Bronze series, Paradigm Monitor Series, KEF Q series, Kispch RP/RF series
FM may suggest more.
It's better to have all speakers from same series of single brand for seamless integration between all channels which provides more immersive and envoloping movie experience. Take time , invest wisely and stay away from upgradation.
Major FM who share their opinions in this thread are from long time in this field and have vast experience of audio and video equipment. They are very well aware with recently developed and implemented technologies in this field. Their suggestions and recommendations will help you a lot in your journey. Best of Luck....

Buy the center and surround also from crystal. Why are you hesitating on that? For a sub people have already given you a good suggestion with svs. Rel is also superb if you can set it up right. For an AV receiver Yamaha and Marantz are right up there. If I were you I would go with the Yamaha as its little more punchy and I think you will enjoy it a bit more the Marantz tends to be more musical in terms of resolution etc but if your new to this hobby you may enjoy the punchier yamaha. Buy the highest model that you can afford. Yamaha 1070 or Marantz 7000 series and above. Main thing is to match the speakers right and buy a real good sub, not a fancy looking one lik the pv1 which is wasting almost 40 percent of your budget. Buy a good 12 inch sub and you will thank us. We all have burnt our hands with this hobby so we are trying to guide you as per our experience. I'm happy you have a good budget so try and get it right the first time around. There is zero resale in this hobby so don't get stuck with something.

You don't need bi amping. Just hook it up normally and forget about it. Have someone set it up well and you will enjoy it. Speaker positioning is critical as well to get a proper sound field.
