Videocon D2H HD No 5.1 Sound

There is no support VIA HDMI on the Normal HD Box, i tried changing the setting to HomeCinema and the Setting on the all HD channel by using the YELLOW button, but if you use HDMI and change the setting to use Dolby Digital for the channels there is no Sound. Will have to check with something other than HDMI.

If they have just started support for 5.1 audio, it's good.........high time they do it!!! can't have HD broadcast without 5.1 audio.

go for TATA SKY HD and get 5.1 Dolby Digital

videocon DTH is just upscaling of 720 size and without 5.1

^^ dude..you got it all wrong.

DTH have 22 HD channels (not upscaled) and among them 10 of them are in DD sound.

You can get the DD sound from SPDIF port to the reliever and also selecting the "homecinema" option in STB.

How to differentiate between Asli HD channels and upscaled one. Almost all DTH providers are claiming they have the Asli HD channels but how do we know that.

You can clearly distinguish between True HD and upscaled HD channels just by comparing the PQ. In addition all true HD channels have a HD word with the name like Nat Geo HD.

I shifted to D2h yesterday, and I find the picture/ sound quality of SD channels a lot better than Tata Sky. There are so many HD channels. I'm loving it.

Can anyone tell me for sure whether Videocon d2h Normal HD STB has 5.1 Dolby digital sound through hdmi out or is it through SPDIF port ?

Also if their HD DVR box has 5.1 Dolby through HDMI out or through SPDIF again ?

Pls don't speculate , pls tell only if sure or from personal experience of owning one
