Videocon D2H HD No 5.1 Sound

Can anyone confirm (strictly a user only) if normal HD BOX after an software upgrade will give DD sound?

Got a call from their mumbai office, guy says not possible on NORMAL HD BOX, ONLY HD DVR DOES THAT........ Is it true?
 
As per them HD only box will receive updates from satellite if not from updated by technician via usb.
DD will come from hdmi then.

Do you have a normal HD BOX? It's provides DD from HDMI? Which download version?
 
Wow, at last, DD from my HD BOX :thumbup::), the Mumbai guy again called and said there is no dolby from hdmi yet, and it's in working,........ But i still said just upgrade my software still

He said ok, but it will be in service center, so he sent a guy with stand by HD box but turned out it was with latest download ID, 36.........it has all DD from HDMI and usb recording feature as well :D:thumbup::), and i will not be getting my own box now, I have 11 months warranty left, so I am ok with this used but all features box :-)
 
hello anyone using videocon d2h hd dvr 500GB box getting dolby digital sound on hd channels?please help me through this..my hd dvr was not delivering dolby digital sound ao the engineer updated software via usb but the problem was nt solved.he replaced the box with new hd dvr box but still no success..kindly help me to get dolby digital sound.
i have connected hd dvr hdmi out to tv hdmi in and hd dvr spdif optical out to home theaters optical in.thank you

Cant set it up till interior work is completed.. so reserve my privilege to ask some questions once its up and running in case case of any issues..
 
hi lake the engineer already updated software via usb still not getting dolby..pls tel ur configuration of hd dvr for getting dolby sound.

Are you using 500 GB DVR box. You need to change sound option to digital by clicking on yellow button. This gets reset every time you change the channel.
 
Just go to box settings and sect the option of home cinema for sound, u will automatically get dolby sound for all hd chs which have dolby sound and there is no need to manually slect dolby option from language button of remote. Do this if u have home theater connected, if u have normal tv connected for sound then select the stereo option
 
i have selected home cinema option in settings still no success..engineer replaced my hd dvr but the problem is still there.i guess hd dvr box having prob sending dolby digital sound..i have connected optical out of hd dvr to my home theaters optical in..sound coming is stereo only..d2h guys having no clue now..my software download id is 44.

Dear Dino, if a AV receiver is connected with HDMI / COAXIAL OR SPDIF, the AVR by default detects audio formats, it's not about predictions on channel additions, it's purely substandard hardware of the STB.
 
HD DVr of videocon d2h supports dolby sound over HDMI, have u tried that?
Also try connecting HDMI from stb to tv and then optical wire from optical out of tv to optical in of home theater
 
yea tried via hdmi and coaxial also but no dolby digital sound..anyone getting dolby frm hd dvr?if yes then pls help..
 
try as i told u , connect hdmi from stb to tv and optical wire from tv to home theatre plus be sure that u have selected dolby digital in language option for hd chs by selection from remote
