Hi All,

Need a help/suggestion...

Currently I am using Tata Sky HD+ connection and I am planning to move to Videocon but I need Digital Video Recorder (DVR), Videocon site says that it has has anyone in Bangalore have this?

If someone is having can you please let me know the quality???? Is there any issues with Videocon DVRs?

Thanks

I was planning to switch from tatasky+ HD to Videocon but after interacting with customer care and their dealer decided to stay with Tatasky.

There is no one voice communication from dealer and customer care. After interacting with them you will be more confused than convinced.

Do one thing post ur query on Videocon d2h facebook page or tweet to them, they will surely help u. Their Social Media support is excellent and cust care has also improved now

I have had no trouble with Videocon d2h at all in all fronts, i have tata sky, used airtel before and find that Videocon D2H is satisfying in all fronts. Other ops lack i many fronts

Last week I saw full page color ad of Videocon DVR in our daily. The price is around 8K and it has features like recording two channels at the same time.

Any comments about the playback of the recorded content? Someone on this forum said that finding the exact file to playback was a challenge with videocon d2h... can users of videocon d2h dvr confirm the same?

i had called Videocon DTH cutomer care yesterday and they confirmed a new model (number 4614 if my memory is serving me right) has been launched.

I went ahead and renewed TS for another 6 months, hoping the D2H will fix the issues with their DVR in next 6 months, if they do I will the first one to switch. The current d2h DVRhas some problems as per the review in another thread in this forum....

The New 1000 GB HD DVR from Videocon d2h has no issues or bugs at all, u made an error by staying with tata sky

It's a shame Videocon does not provide an offer for other subscribers such as Airtel.

I got Airtel last year since Videocon did not have a recording option. I already have a cost of around 6-7K for the Airtel recorder box. Now if I go with Videocon, I have to spend 8,250 once again.

I wish Videocon comes up with an offer especially for those who are willing to subscribe for 5 years.

There r many offers for curent customers including offers for upgrading to videocon hd dvr and if u want it as a separate connection

If u want to buy a HD DVR as a separate conn then u will get it fo Rs 6490 as u r already a videocon d2h customer plus if u wish to upgrade to HD DVR from ur current stb then too there r heavy discounts like Rs 2500 off on the cost

Ooops, anyone has this box? can someone who is using this box give feedback?

Hope this thread has not died,

Hoping someone who is

1. actually regularly using the box,
2. a DVR pro user
3. and is somewhat unbiased

could answer, would really help my decision process.

So far, what I've gathered:
1) TS: expensive, exploitative, but decent service (for most ppl), good interface, good dvr .
2.) Videocon: cheap, good installn time, quality debatable, bad dvr/interface.
3.) Airtel: compromise of all 3, bad cust service(?)
4.) Dish: Mostly Fraud HD. From my old set top box, inteface also sucks. DVR no idea..

Any inputs..?

I think the answer is in your own observations. I have Tata Sky and am reasonably satisfied with it. You are right when you say it is a bit expensive but the DVR box works flawlessly

hello everyone!

i am a user of TS HD+, and now wish to migrate to Videocon. i want to give my STB to someone else (i read that its possible), and move over to Videocon HD with DVR option. how much would that set me back by? any offers on the same?
