Vintage AMP - Which are Top rated?

Sir , PM54\64 Not worth for 22K,Within 10-12K Max.KR-9400,KA 8100,KA 907,KA-6100,5500 are few Models I know,But trust me you will not get these Stuff in India for easy price.

Thanks , I will try to negotiate Marantz he will mostly give it off at 15k, what about Fisher CA2320 at 20k?

The other vintage amplifiers I have used and still using are Quad 303 and Quad 2 Monoblocks. I have to say they are outstanding models. I have also used a Hafler Power amplifier(I do not remember the model) . This was also excellent but it consumed a lot of power and I reluctantly sold it.

I am presently using the SAE pre and power combo, excellent performance. I bought it from Ebay, Germany, cost me substantially, but worth it!!!

Navinsinha, you have put together a very good system which I am sure must be having great synergy. The AR 18 are great speakers for a smaller room. The SAE amps are very good. The Technics is another great gem. Irrespective of whether one goes vintage or modern, synergy is the key

Sir, Could you share the details of this trade related to customs and Courier used? Like How much you paid for Shipping? Which courier was used? How much percentage Customs was changed ? How long it took for delivery ? Was there any damage during transit etc Also any good Bad experience with ourier\Custom officer
It would be helpful for the people who (Like Me) wish you import Vintage systems from Outside India.

Thanks:clapping:

Custom has become way stricter in the last year or two. Used equipment cannot be got into India. It's banned. I have wanted to get another turntable but the clearing forwarding agents have refused to touch it saying no amount of money can get it out. So don't base it on experiences of people who had got their equipment more than two years back.

Unless you carry it yourself.

Prem is right! Now a days it's almost impossible to import used electronics in India. If someone carries personally, it's a different matter.
BTW I purchased the SAE combo (3 years back) from Ebay, Germany for Euro 187, paid freight of Euro 210 and duty of INR 8,000.

True Alby. If one can carry it then it's possible. Problem is these good amps and speakers weigh a ton:)

But, is this possible: I buy something used say a pair of floor Stnders. while I am abroad, which is under 50,000 ( I have an eBay invoice for the item stating the price). I take Air India from European country to India which allows me upto 40kg. I am willing to pay for anything say another 10kg. Is there anything which would stop me from carrying them to India?

What I heard from others is, We can bring old items in case our stay in abroad is long duration say 6 months and declare the item as used when the stay we in abroad. I don't have any personal experience. Couple of months back one known friend imported one used TT and declared as 'Old stock New' and cleared custom.

YAMAHA B2 V fet amplifier.best amp till date in my experience.
making my krell to cry.
v fet is a magic.

Recently got an Audio Refinement Complete ( a reputed amp, may be >15 years old), but ended up trading it for a Nad 3020, a 40 year old amp, which is fantastic for the money. Though it was functioning well, i recapped it to restore it to its optimum functioning. The bass and the details it provides is amazing and it drives with ease my 86db speakers.
