T Antony has designed a 2 way speaker system using Peerless drivers, available locally. He has presented this at the DIY speaker seminar on Sunday. Since this is the first time, there are bound to be some mods/tweaks that will be done as it evolves.

The drivers are affordable, as as the resistors and capacitors, we need only to find a source for the inductors. To start with it is easiest to build the enclosure in raw MDF, and then each one can finish according to personal preference.

Since we would like others also to go down the DIY path, he is prepared to work with someone who will volunteer to build and document the build in detail and with photographs, so that anyone wanting to do a similar build can easily follow it. We all believe that this is great value for money, and no one venturing down this path will regret the choice.

Those who know about such projects know that many such builds are there on AVS Forum and others, this is a first in India.

Cheers

Folks, here's the good news!

Ok we have a volunteer ( Babu), so that part of it is done, and we can move forward. At this poitn we don't need another volunteer. Babu is in Bangalore so logistics are easy.

Antony, if you can specify the drivers and appx pricing and give contact info about ordering, Babu can order them and we can get started.

To my mind there is no harm in indicating box size/crossover etc as this thread develops-if there are any changes there is nothing wrong- after all, it is a project being evolved.

Babu: We will answer all the questions that you have posed, one by one. We need to locate the wood working shop and have him complete the enclosure, polish it and then deliver it to your place, to mount the assembled crossovers, terminals and drivers. You dont want any woodworking done inside your house.

I think it is best to ask Antony to come into this discussion now since he is the one who is going to be driving this project forward.

Welcome aboard Babu.

@exljp - This is a TM bookshelf project using Peerless India 5.25" Kevlar drivers and 1" aluminum dome tweeters.

George, shall we move further discussions to a new thread with a suitable title?

George,

Can you change the thread title to something more suitable. This guinea pig thing seems to be insulting whoever has voluntered or planning to volunteer.

Antony
