Looking to buy a stereo setup for a friend. Two options in the 35k or speaker budget are Wharfedale diamond 10.5 or 9.5 and the Dali Concept 6. Which do you recommend?

9.6 is a better option too...but please audition all options before you take a call....and they all need some time to burn in before they sing gloriously.
cheers.

Price difference about eight thousand but performance difference is huge.I've audition both and preferred DALI.

Dali anytime. In fact i tested them way back in 2005 ( don't remember whaf's model but they were towers) and i can tell you that dali can reproduce more accurately that whaf's. Bass is tight too, whaf's seems to get lost in that department. as far as i can remember dali were sleek and small compared to the whaf. what about the new series from dali-ikon?

what about the new series from dali-ikon?

DALI IKON is way too expensive for him. The MRP is 82k a pair, ofcourse there is a discount but he has a budget of 35k i think. And DALI concept is the best choice for him. I have auditioned Whaf 9.2 and just like rupak said, the bass is tight and sound is melodious in DALI.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
