I want to buy a basic media player for my TV. My range is around 7-8k. Kindly advise what options I have in this range. Prefer to buy from a B&M store such as Reliance Digital, Croma etc.
Cheers,
Sid

reliance might have asus o-play HD , o'play mini ... xtreamer

mini is without networking but plays almost everything thrown at it at 4k..

no sure of the availability of xtreamer at stores but can be bought off ebay

all these are 8k and below... asus few models and desi amkette should be there at stores.. though amkette should not be in the list..

alternate options is to get android tv boxes/hdmi sticks .. plays HD and makes you TV a smart one.. but most of them i checked are still buggy and lags at times..

Thanks ironhorse & prosenjit. I already have a AC Ryan POHD2 player for my HT, so just need something basic for casual tv viewing such as tv shows etc. Sounds like asus oplay mini will serve my needs. Will look for one at reliance digital. Reason for buying in B&M stores - had a few bad experiences with on-line stores - bad customer service, don't want to waste my time calling back and forth for a few thousand rupees, rather pay a little more and get my hands on an actual unit from a live person, whom I can go back and yell at if something goes wrong:lol:
Cheers,
Sid

Better look for WD TV-Live, the latest model (around Rs.7250/- or so) comes with wifi, which may come handy at times.

If I remember correctly o-play mini does not have network port, rather oplay mini-plus has built-in wifi and ethernet port
