What to buy

Hey guys i am in the process of getting a HT system and a projector for my
HT room which is 15' x 21' and is a dedicated room.
For the sound system i was thinking of the sonodyne SONUS V2 5.1 setup with a yamaha AV receiver and for the projector i was thinkng of OPTOMA HD65.
My budget is around 1.2 lacs including everything..can you pls give me suggestions on any change required in my choices and also which DVD player to buy.something that can play HD dvd's.
and also is there any need for sound proofing the room immediately as it is working out to be very expensive for me..

Good Full HD projector & HT in 1.2lk is difficult.
Good HT comes for 65k(budget) to 95(better)

eg Denon 1610(30k) + mission MVDS5.1 (35k) = 65k
Den 1910 (42k) + Q acoustic 1010i (55k) = 97k

Get your hands on a Oppo 980 or a 981. The 981 is officially available in India from Sound of Music, Delhi. This will set you back by 20K. If it is outside your budget, the next best option (in my opinion) is the Pioneer 440.

You need not sound proof the whole room, but see if you can install sound absorbers at reflections points. There are a number of threads that have discussed this in detail.

DVDp cant play HDDVD ,but can upscale to 1080p.
@Venkatr- Oppo980 is difficult to get noe days.

Hi spiro,

Yes its pretty hard to get the 980H in India.Can't ship it as it seems the HKflix guys stopped selling hardware.The only choice is if someone is coming from Singapore you can ask them to bring it. You can get it there for 10k.For audio and video its worth every rupee.

thanks a lot guys for the help..so you say i should pick a denon 1910 or 1610 over a yamaha(What sonodyne offers)?and i guess it makes sense to buy a player that can play HD dvd's right?so again which one do i get?
and what about sonodyne?is it not good enough?
