Which Cables to Buy

Hi

I will be ordering a Schiit Bifrost DAC very soon and will be connecting it with my Lapotop and CDP, now i will be needing the following

1. a usb interconnect for my laptop.

2. optical interconnect for CDP.

Please advise on which cables to buy and whether to buy from the US itself or get it from INDIA.

Do you hav ethe option of Coaxial digital connectivity between CD player and DAC. If yes i will prefer Coaxial over optical.

I am not a great believer in spending lot of money money on the cables.
Bandridge (cheapest), Profigold,DAC cables are some of the brands which come to my mind.If you can get from US- Monster from Amazon.

I would also say connect to coaxial if possible. Optical is bandwidth limiting.

Choice of cable depends on the budget. See if XLR digital coaxial cable is within your budget or not. For USB cable I am not sure if any cable will do its job or not. My gut feelings is any cable should work just as good.

Do you really need the 12 feet length. Try and minimize the lengths to the extent possible.

I am assuming that you selected the A to B USB cable based on your DAC connector.

You can get good quality cables in India too. You can go to any audio shop and be shown exotic cables or you can pick up inexpensive ones thru ebay. All of them should work. All said I would prefer a optical/coaxial connection from CDP to DAC. A USB A-B cable is generally used for DACs. If shipping and time is not a factor you can try from Amazon otherwise you can source the same from India itself. ebay/HIfimart are some of the good options to source cables from.

Last month I bought some of connection lab cables and I'm all good with them so I can recommend it to you. They've got optical and coaxial too, as far as I remember.
