Hi Friends,

I had recently bought a Yamaha RXV465 from US and my froend in the AV section have helped me out
as to how can I use them in India (220 - 110 V)

Now I would need he;p from the guys out here. I have gone through a number of posts and have come
up with the following conclusion

1. Was planning to buy Bose Acoustimass 6 Series III speaker and found out that it would have
been one of the worst chose

2. The othr option os to go for speakers like JBL, Energy etc .... but unabel to make up my mind
and this is where I am looking for help from you guys....

As for the the room size:

I stay in a flat where the sitting and dining room is integrated into one and is in the shape of
"L". The size of the sitting room is 19.5 * 12 . Also I would be spending 50-50 time in watching
Movies and listening to Music and would be looking for good surround sound and bass effect

Also I am staying in Noida and would appreciate if you could share places where I can go and look for
the speakers you mention.

Also my budget is around 40 K

Please do let em know if you guys require any additional information.

Thanks
S

With the room size of 19x12, you can go for decent floorstands for fronts so that you enjoy music as well. And since you are looking for bass effect, floorstands are surely a good option for u. Check Q Acoustics, PSB, Dali and Wharfedale. But then you need to stretch your budget. Or else, if you dont mind a 2.1 setup then Bookshelfs will do the job.

Goodluck n keep auditioning..

You are welcome to have an audition of PSB speakers at our Delhi showroom located at A-70, Lajpat Nagar 2, Near Bikanerwala and Opposite Bata Showroom.
Please give us a call to fix an appointment with us for a demo session.

Hi Guys,

After going through the threads since yesterday I have made up my mid atleast for the Center Channel speakers and it would be POLK CS10.

I am thinking of buying a 2.1 system and then upgrading it with the remaining surround speakers.

Guys please let me know of your feedback on my choise of POLK CS10 and also give me options around the 2.1 Channel speaker systems

Also do let me know if this is a good idea to gradually build 5.1 Channel system

Thanks
S

Can you let me know how much will this cost ? Also U would like to add that my receiver is Yamaha RXV 465 just want to make sure that I have the right set od speaks and not buying in speakers that the receiver cannot handle...

Thanks
S

Hi sunbaj,

If you decided Polk for center, then you cannot decide anything else for the front left and front right. That will be a total mismatch. You wont enjoy the movies cuz the sound signature of speakers will be different. First decide the Fronts; which include FL, FR and center and you can go for any rears. That is if you want to save money.
Polk is a good brand. It depends on your taste. If you like the sound signature of Polk then you can go for it. But i would recommend, auditioning. Dont buy anything just for the reviews. Listen to what your ears like. We can just suggest you the brands. Take your time.

Good luck..!

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
