Why I did not like Wharfdale? some queries..

Hi,

After getting your inputs & searching through net, I think that I should go with arrangement given below. As Dolby's principal says that the speakers should be at 24-28 degree from center. I think this is most suitable position. This would also separate the speakers by 9 feet (Min 5-6 feet required, so More than necessary, but I don't have any other option). Also, As given on different websites, front & center speakers should be arranged as Arc. Below arrangement serve this purpose.

Also, I'll definitely give Wharfedale another try with other receivers. Thanks for all your inputs.

It looks like you are more into home theatre than stereo. IMO most Wharfedale speakers offer a more gentle sound which is good for soft music but they won't have the impact for watching movies or music pack with crowded instruments.
I have listen to the diamond 9 series floorstand and the hi clarity was fine. If part of your mind tells you that you are also buying for some bass Wharfedale is out of the choice.

I know im a late entrant for this thread. But couldn stop contributing my piece of pie!. As few pointed earlier, wharfes are power hungry something like 100W X 8 to make them sing. It may be due to the kevlar drivers and sensitivity of 86db for the bookshelves. I have felt the need for more power especially for the bottom end. But they can sing well with good amps (thats why im after an upgrade some time later!!). I have heard some other bookshelves and floorstanders and i must say wharfs are not bad. Especially at the price point.
