Folks

I will be travelling for most of the next six weeks, and am not too sure about internet access. Accordingly I will not be active as usual, especially post March 28th.

In my absence a carpenter will be working on my Scanspeak MTM enclosure, which should be completed by the time i return, I will post pictures of work in progress whenever I can. I also have a 12 inch sub, a sealed unit in progress-it's almost finished, hopefully will post some pictures.

Cheers

George,

Have a safe trip and great time. Will link up if I am coming over there.

Cheers.

George achayo, have a great trip, we will miss you here. And waiting eagerly for the Scanspeak build to be completed!

Thanks folks.

I installed my new screen last week, and spent some time on my new build yesterday. I'm hoping that by next week/this weekend most of the stuff will be done-I'm initially building the inner box in MDF and then covering it in 4mm rosewood veneer, with front baffle and corner moulding in solid timber. It's a fairly interesting build, and uses both eggshell foam and polyfill. The crossovers should be also be assembled this week, either on 1/4 in plywood or 1/4 in MDF-I don't use these thicknesses and getting a small piece is a challenge!

Thanks to Sunil J who prepared the cutting diagram for me, the carpenter's job became a whole lot easier.

Hi George,

I am also planning to do veneering mine and was wondering how to handle the corners. your moulding idea sounds good. Please post pics when you are done. Please also let me know where you procured the veneer for this. I also would like to steal your carpenter once your build is done.

I am using 4mm rosewood veneered ply and pinewood for baffle and corners. The corner moulding is about 3/4 inch on each plane-or 1 1/2 inches. I had posted pics of the speakers that I have finished this way on my HT build thread a few months ago. Carpenter details no problem, I can give you info, once you see my build and decide you want to know more!

6 weeks .... where to ..... up North ... Delhi & Chandigarh?
Max should provide you with an independent bungalow acco then!

Just got back today and will be a bit more active than during April. Got to hear Roy Hargrove( a two time Grammy Award winning jazz trumpeter)live at the Village Vanguard as well as the NY Philharmonic at Lincoln Centre( The Avery Fisher Hall),conducted by Alan Gilbert and have brought back some toys.More later, now need to hit the sack!

I'm sure its not going to be at the Toys R Us shop in Times Square-that's only for little one's toys.We big boys need big toys, right?

I brought back the remaining pair of SS 18W8545K that were needed to complete my MTM build, these were gathering dust there waiting for a mule to bring them back. Along with a prepro(Emotiva) and a Netgear 4Bay and some other odds and ends.

I'm planning a trip to Hyderabad, in early August for a wedding, will be staying at the Secunderabad Club, on Fri-Sat Aug 10-11. I trust you will be there at the time and if possible will be delighted to do a round of golf-at least 9-12 holes, perhaps 18 might be a bit of a stretchfor me-depending on your convenience, that is. I can come in by an earlier flight to meet up with you, and then check in and join in the wedding stuff later on in the day.
I will pM you my number as we get closer to the date so we can communciate directly.

Cheers

Roy Hargrove Qunitet was outsanding, all five of them-the bassist, the sax, the drummer and keyboard. On the wekend before another outstanding trip played there, but tickets were sold out, and it was too late by the time I got to know that Joshua Redman was playing there. I have two albums of his, and he is also very good.

Josh Redman is not merely a great saxophonist but a highly talented individual:

Sure George - keep me in the loop. Boulder Hills is not in too good of a shape due to the weather but hopefully it will turn around during monsoon. HGA is good as well.
Cheers,

I have a few Joshua Redman Cd's. Excellent musician, and the recording quality is great as well. Would be a treat to see him live. Hopefully a good group will be playing when I get there.
