IPL5 is about to start in 2 weeks , yet no news on HD telecast.
Last year there were some crazy pricing for IPL HD telecast. I believe it was done only on SunDirect.

Any chance of getting this of Airtel this year ?

Well....we can only hope !! No news yet, about Sony Max HD telecast !!
Don't know about IPL HD, but Sun Direct charged around Rs. 13000 for World Cup broadcast on Star Cricket HD channel. Airtel charged only Rs. 150 for starCricket HD.
As far as i know, MAX HD was available on TataSky HD last year, but was not available on Airtel.
Hope Airtel broadcast IPL in HD this year.

Important point from the above-mentioned article

Though Max broadcast the IPL matches even last year in HD, the same was not true for its extraaa innings T20 show, which will be a change that is being introduced this year. A new channel will be launched for this purpose and the details for that are being worked out with the leading DTH providers. However, this channel will be taken off air once IPL is over.

Hope Hathway HD gives us Max HD during IPL. I recently bought it and really looking forward to watching IPL in HD.

I am using Tatasky + HD since last 6 months and no update on HD.
Compared to Airtel and TataSky, Hathway is growing bigger and better day-by-day though they came late to the HD. Videocon is also doing better.

Set Max HD has been added at chn#82 for DishTV tru-hd. Good news for dishtv owners now we can also see the IPL in HD.

Thanks

Just watching IPL on Sonymax. PQ is excellent but sound is stereo only. No DD yet. Are we going to get DD when the matches start? No 5.1 means only half the fun of watching HD

Sorry to be a noob, whats special about hearing commentary on 5.1 vs stereo?

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
