Hi All,

I have read through many posts for my HT i want to buy and was convinced to buy Onkyo S3500 but I am little confused and many reputed members have suggested to buy separate and be future proof. I am not sure about the future whether I would invest any more money after buying once.

My requirements are as follows:

1. I need it mainly for Movies. Say 80% and rest for Music.
2. I want it to connect it with my WDTV Live
3. Connect with my Tata Sky HD+
4. My room dimensions are 12 x 14
5. Would love to have connectivity with my iPad2 and iPhone4S. ( not a big factor)

Budget - 30k - 35k

I would also love to know place(s) to buy in Delhi for the suggestions.

Thanks in Advance.

For your current use, Onkyo 3500 is enough. You can also look for other models like Yamaha YHT 298 or Denon 1312XP.

Separates are better only because you pick and choose specialists. But a separates system is also costly. One must weigh the pros and cons:

- An HTiB is everything in one go. HTiB like Onkyo 3500, Yamaha YHT-298, Denon 1312xp, and similar give some of the benefits of a separates system such as a dedicated AVR.
- With separates one has to pick and choose items, audition them. The final coutcome is definitely better but will be at least twice as costly.
- HTiBs ase mentioned above can easily suffice a small room (less than 15x10)
- Quality is not about buying the best - quality means comformace to requirements. You should not take a Delsey briefcase to shop and store vegetables and groceries and neither should you use a plastic carry-bag to carry your documents and stuff to office.

just took a demo of 3500 today and was satisfied. I am planning a visit to MGF soon and will update my experience of Denon and 4505.

I am not sure for Yamaha but I hope to take a demo for it too.

if u are happy with 3500, I feel u should look out even 4505 .. it's a newer, better system also with an active subwoofer..

the price difference is also very less..

I also request you to demo Onkyo 4505. Its slightly costly but you get a lot of features which will be handy.

Thanks everybody. Finally bought 4505 for 32k. Totally satisfied with Demo. Installation is to be done tomorrow.

Got it from Onkyo Showroom in CR Park. Owner is a nice guy and the Rahul who showed me demo was very helpful and had good knowledge.

Thanks.

I have 1 more question. Should i buy a UPS or a stabilizer for my HT?

I stay in Indirapuram and electricity is a big concern here. Frequent light cuts and many times electricity is run on back up from diesel generators.

Thanks in Advance
