So a friend called me yesterday and was asking about the Yamaha MX-D1. I have no experiance with amp and did not even know that yamaha made class d amps.
He is getting it for £750 from a seller in the UK.
Has anyone heard it? How is it? What amount of money is justified for this amp?

It is an old model and seems to have positive reviews....after all it seems to be made in Japan

Your friend should check what are the available D class amps and how much do they cost new / used and take a call....the Yamaha is a 2005 model not sure about spares and servicing...so your friend should consider all these things and take a call....audition is key....

Hes not looking at class d amps as such. He is just hunting for a power amp. Auditioning it is not possible as the amp is located in Liverpool and he resides in Suffolk.
Has anyone heard this?
More importantly, given that the buyer finds the audio quality to be agreeable and if the cosmetic and functional condition is good; what should be the value of this amp? Can he find better gear for the price?

If he is looking for a power amp there are many in the market like Anthem or Rotel or Marantz or Emotiva or Crown or QSC or Studio Master...all depends on the connectivity options and output power he requires to drive the speakers he has....

Yes im very well aware of the options. Im more interested in subjective opinions on the amps audio quality and whether or not that justifies the asking price.
Any previous or current owners?

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
