The famous Yamaha is reborn (kinda). New exotic materials and what not. Too bad it's going to cost a bomb!

I used its previous gen model ns1000m for 2yrs time.its good,but after getting jbl i sold it,different taste for different people.

I've not heard the ns1000 (though I'd like to listen to them). How would you pen down its sonic signature? A little brighter than your JBLs and my Sonys I guess?
The new 5000 doesn't contain beryllium drivers anymore so it's going to sound noticeably different perhaps.

yamaha are great, the bite and attack is listen to believe. this is due to the magic of beryllium.
but they lack low end(its purely my openion-dont want to start a debate
once i listened to vintage jbl L100T3 i realised what i am missing.
when i upgraded my speakers to dream speakers L300 ITS MY HEAVEN.

all oreginal drivers purchased from usa with oreginal diaphragms and crossover made as per oreginal drawings, cabinet made by professionals.

I own a ns-1000 with mx-1000 and cx-1000;it is good setup;but had an opportunity last week to listen to B&W 802 D3;with McIntosh pre and Power the gentleman has put in about 45k usd in the setup and it sounded excellent;the local B&W dealer I spoke to has recommended Deviat amps to have a heavenly trip.looking at this cost ns-5000 should be a better buy if sound quality is comparable..

45K USD , With that Money I would get nice set-up for Family than to Stereo, Just kidding.

Yamaha NS-1000 Is kind of Lovable sound, JBL Is Joy. I love JBL Though,Might be due to the type of Music am listening to.

me also, setteled with vintage jbl l 300,i prefer it over ns1000, may be my musical tastes towards jbl flavour
