Please help !!!!

Just purchased a new Yamaha RXV371 and connected via 1 HDMI lead to my Panasonic TH-42PX60B Plasma TV.

Connected Sky HD BOx via HDMI lead and optical lead for Dolby 5.1 audio.

No problem with that ! Connected my Pioneer DV696-S DVD player via HDMI lead only but cannot get Dolby Digital or DTS when playing DVD's which have Dolby output and cannot get 5.1 from SACD's.

The Yamaha has a "straight" sound setting which allows output from DVD source without adding surround effects but sound only comes from Sub woofer and front / right and left speakers.
Can anyone help ??? Please

Off-topic - So Dolby 5.1 bug exist in UK for Sky HD box? Can't you get it through HDMI (instead of optical)?

I think SACD do not allow 5.1 audio through HDMI and you may need an analog output from your DVD Player for the sound.

There might be a setting on Pioneer DVD player to output multichannel (DD/DTS) sound through HDMI. Let me know if connecting to TV directly and doing the right setting help.

Off topic but slightly on topic - Do you like your Yamaha 371?? Im planning to pick one up. What speakers have you hooked up to this receiver?

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
