Yanni live in chennai

YANNI LIVE IN CHENNAI. I was there to night, It was amazing. It was a compromise to have this concert in an Indoor stadium (especially the one which was meant for sports) than being in a Concert hall. It lacked lot of synergy and ambience and so many in sound.

This time he mixed the songs and surprised the audience. Especially in Nightingale instead of Flute, Female voice was introduced and she was amazing.

Any further comments / opinions?

Hello Raj Sir,
One Word to Say , I have missed it due to my Official work :-( It was almost 17 Years after his first visit to India.

I could be there, Anyways Planing for Friday's concert in Bangalore.

His Composition has a soul that i have felt, Might for Me Ilayaraj and Yanni are top in list who mesmerize with their Work.

I Would expect few Photos if possible, and the minutes your Ears were felt its purpose.

Flute and Violine sounds with great depth in his composition.


If I miss this time, Not sure i will get another Chance in my Whole Life.

Ignorance is Bliss- That what i could reply. Seriously i dont know about "How Stuff Works" about carnatic music But in recent days I got addicted towards to MSS and Sudha raghunadhan classic music.

Hence i dont know or feel that whether Yanni has let down the classic music.I enjoy this compositions and understand that he is too experimental hence if something gone wrong let make it as "Trail and error" and not to the subject of Issue.

All artists are as good as one's ears and one can enjoy work of all no matter what some snobs may say (Each artist has his/her fans and anti-fans) .

He still has an audience, i see folks of a wide variety of age group in that crowd and that is all matters, I have read this kind of post in many comment sections of many music related videos where one tries to justify their closed knowledge by claiming a particular kind of music is the best and just like you said " collective sensibilities of years of sensitive listening to classical music".

Music does not have any rules and if you start to define one then it becomes like how it is defined in quran, it says any kind of music is evil and only a particular instrument described in quran should ever be played by humans and if done otherwise he is committing a sin.

So lets open our minds and try to respect all kinds of music which is out there no matter if we personally like it or hate it, personally i feel music like classical(all kind of classical) is just one kind of music formed by certain people in certain parts of the world, music is such a vast thing and there is no high quality or low quality, its just that the same genre of music which is high quality for some is utter crap for others.

Yanni never claims he is a classical music composer, he is more in the likes of kitaro,kenny G and Vangelis, they all belong to a genre called new age instrumental.
