Hi there-

I'm panning on a HT and need your suggestions. Here is some info:

Room Size: 14x10
Budget: Rs 100,000
Movies: Music 70:30
Music Genre: Western Classical, Jazz, Country, meditation

This is going to be a dedicated HT room, would appreciate your speakers+AVR suggestions

Thanks in advance

Well, if I had your budget, I would go for Yahama RX -V373 (25000/-)
For music I would choose Monitor Audio Bronze BX 2 (31000)
And for HT set up get a Q ACOUSTICS 2000i 5.1 (MRP:66965)

These are MRPs you will get a discount about 8-10% on MRP.

But there are a lots of other configuration possible, you should shortlist and start demo. Only Demo can give you a real life idea about your favorite sound signature.

I would suggest you to go for Denon 1612/1613/1713 with separates such as Polk Audio, whatefedale, tannoy, boston acoustics etc. as Roopam said, you need to demo them first. You can keep 30-35k for AVR and rest for speakers (centre, front, surrounds) and subwoofer.

First split the Budget for total components

AVR- 25k
Front (Book shelf's)-25K (As you prefer more Music, the stereo mode in AVR would give you nice music)
Center -15K
Rears - 15K
Sub- 15K
Accessories -5K

Brands
AVR- Yamaha or Denon
BS(Front)-Kef,MS,POLK,PSB etc
Sub- can try with good Indian brand like Sonodyne for the budget

Bro,
Sorry for making a bad reading as 70:30:),I found you prefer 70% Movies and 30%Music

If yo prefer for Movies, its better to choose the 5.1 Set-up from same brand with some good offers.

+Add a good sub for best movie experience.

50 K for front+center+rear(Monitor Audio BR 5 (FS))
20 K for Sub(Sonodyne Roar : 18K,)
and 30 for AVR

For front check out for Floor standers at 25K +Rear 15k +Center 10K

Wait for our fm'S opinions and decide.

Rule of Thump:

Decide at Least 4 set of sepakers Combo audition all and zerro with the speakers and finally purchase and Enjoy the Music

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
