1TB external hard disk will work for SONY 40w900a?

2 months back i bought Sony 40w900a.
Now am planing to buy 1 TB external hard disk for the purpose of to see all videos in Sony 40w900a

external hard disk supports USB 3.0 & 2.0 and this Sony model supports USB 2.0 only

Is this Sony model will support 1TB external hard disk to see all kinds videos(supported formats)

1. Sony has limited format support when compared to Toshiba/Panasonic.
2. 500GB max HDD - i suppose it supports. (Couple of showroom guys claimed 1TB but did not demo though!)
You would need to demo at the showroom with 1TB HDD and check. Some showrooms demo them with 1TB based on your request.

My 2 TB ext HD USB 3.0 plays flawlessly on my W950.....so you should've absolutely no problem.

My 2tb hdd works on 42w800 so you should not have issues

W SERIES TVs can play wide variety of formats too

I have a w800a too, please answer following to make my HDD buy easier.

>> Which make/model?
>> external powered or USB Powered will do?
>> does it plays 3D content well, or I still need BRDP/PS?
>> How good 2TB HDD playback is when it comes to file sizes over 10-20 GB?
>> Is it safe to connect Flash drive/ HDD all the while(24*7) to the TV?

My 2 TB HD USB 3 plays without any problem on my Sony 42'' KDL W 674A
So you will not have any problem...But it may not support all the format..
there are some limitation..

Recently I checked with one Sony LED(not sure about model).It read 1 TB HDD,played 80% of mkvs,also sent DD5.1 via ARC to Denon AVR.
