hi,
from where did you source the transformer...and the cabinet too...

regards,
Jawed

regarding transformer,it is 46-0-46,6A one,it is a custom made one which i purchased from a local transformer making facility,it costs about INR 1200,winding r of good grade copper,i tried no-load test for which it gave me best results

cabinet is a bed type ATX cabinet (CPU 1996 model)

1200 for +/- 46V is not bad (46VDC and not AC I guess). If so, I will be coming to Ktym soon. will buy some trafos:p. Total cost of approx 4.2k is cool too.

how,which r the components,have u experimented?

I have been using wintek for more than a decade now along with a dozen or more other brands. About the components, it works by swapping the caps and resistors in the board till you get the desired sound.

Boards like pre-amp, tone control, bass boosting circuit, filter circuits, X-overs etc. It's like different ingredients for different curries but they all will taste good if the ingredients of each curry is balanced.

Ready made boards are time savers but they are not specifically assembled for different amplifiers, speakers in varying cabinet sizes etc. Its easy to assemble boards on a common pcb.

I have used and liked around half a dozen different sub filter boards using different quad/dual op-amps. I liked more than a dozen tone controls. Tweaking always benefits and the only way to do it is by experimenting.

In the process, I have blown up stuff and felt the 'electric rush' (lost count). Regarding bass, I add a good amount of capacitance like 15-22,000mfd x 4 caps. Normally uses 35A bridge diode.

Images of two X-overs and a speaker system.

1) Crystal 2) Wintek 3) Osaka paper cone 7" woofer with inverted cloth surround (good mid fq).

Crystal X-over is used with the Osaka woofers. Wintek has comparably heavy inductors which didn't suit the sound signature of Osaka.

P.S. Using a bass boosting board after 2 way active filter will enhance the bass quality (IMO).

Hello faizal which is the circuit and where did you manage the PCB, is it glass epoxy. I am from Chennai and would like to know if the PCBs and circuits are available off the shelf and from which source. Thanks in advance.

Read about the transformer and Wintek and saw your other multichannel amp also.

Cheers

Hello faizal, I think the whole thing is Wintek. If it is so thanks, otherwise please post.

Cheers

Thanks for the info. Is Prolink available on line. I am from Chennai. Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Question is fired towards Faizal, but I know the dealer personally. It is available online sold by someone and I don't think it is the manufacturer himself as the price is quite steep compared to how much it is sold for at the store.
