Hi--Can any one help me to identify & buy a 3D Blue Ray All Region Player?
It should be able to play HD-DVD's, CD's too. I would appreciate your advice.

Only 3D Capable and Region Free Blu Ray player available here is Oppo BDP 93 and 95.

I don't think so, Oppo will not play HD-DVD's( if you have meant Toshiba HD-DVD).. If you meant specifically BD's and DVD's then go with Oppo.

If my guess is right that you have mentioned toshibha outlasted HD-DVD's then nothing will play except BD Rom for PC.

There are plenty of Region free 3D BD players available. Check the sites such as 220electronics.com bombayelectronics.com, 20 North etc.

HD-DVD, the rival format of Blu-Ray, is now a defunct format. BD players cannot play HD-DVDs but can play standard DVDs. Most will also play CDs. For formats such as MP3, DVix/Xvid, MKV, etc., you will have to check each BDP capability. Oppo 93 (Rs. 41k) is a 3D capable BDP, can play all formats (but not HD-DVD), and can be made region free by a mod.

You can also look at Dune Prime 3.0 that comes with a region-free BD player and a built-in media player. It has net connectivity and many more attractive features. It can Bitstream HD audio and also send it as LPCM.

Panasonic BDT-110, 210, 310 are also a few of the well reviewed 3D bluray players. Also much cheaper than oppo 93 / 95 as I saw in shopping sites. But I believe BDT-110 is region specific. I am yet to know its price in India.

1) My apologies, for not responding to thank all who have commented to my query
on July 13, 2011(I was travelling & hence the delay). After assessing your comments & checking with friends--I am advised to purchase a 3D-Blu Ray-All region player, 5.1 wall mounted speakers & a 5.1 AVR to complete my home theatre. I have recently purchased a Samsung TV 46" & this is 3D compatible. The HT system is to be installed in my bar area & the available enclosed space is only 11'x 11' (rather small). I am looking for a mid level HT & am budgeting Rs 1 lac+ (considering that I have already spent Rs.65K on the Samsung 46" TV). I have spent several days visiting suppliers in Mumbai for auditions.
2) Speakers--I have heard JBL's "Control Now" (Rs.50K with active woofer) & "Control One" (Rs.60K with active woofer), Jamo A101 & A 102, Canton 85 & 125 (Rs.34K & Rs 35K with active woofers) & some other (which I am not impressed with).
3) AVR's--I have Harmon Kardon (65 Watts per channel) with both the JBL's. Also Denon 1611 & 1911 with Jamos. Also Marantz SR 5005 (which is an Amp) with the Canton models. On this site I find you experts discuss several speaker models (which I have not heard off).
3) I have failed to find a 3D, Blu Ray All region player. The dealer says he can supply that he can supply a Panasonic Model BD 75 -(latest) Rs.7.5K & Dune Rs.33K & that both these can be modified with firmware to becoming "region free". They are already 3D with Blu Ray.
4) On this site I find you experts discuss several makes/models which I have never heard off (being a relative novice). So far I have liked the JBL Control Now & Harmon Kardon combination. However I know that you experts will (hopefully) suggest some better alternatives (& I realise that speakers depends on personal sound preferences), which I shall audition & decide/purchase. Please tell me suppliers in Mumbai that have a wide variety to choose from
5) One more question: I know that sterio music with amps is better than AVR sound for music (& essentially meant for AV). However if there are any systems which give me sterio good music as well as AV (for HT), I am prepared to spend extra for such a product combination.
