5.1 subwoofer not working when playing music?

Hello I am a proud owner of GENIUS Home Theater SW-HF 5.1. I have just noticed then when I am playing music only the front right and front left speakers are actually playing. The center, subwoofer and rear speakers don't make a sound. I understand that the rear speakers shouldn't be working, because music is supposed to be stereo, but I would really like to know how to get the subwoofer to work.
I have realtek audio control and it is set to 5.1 and when I do the TEST all speakers play the sound and woofer trebles.

Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to get the subwoofer to work when playing music.

You can use Dolby Prologic or DTS Neo6 if it is available in your HT.

In your Realtek audio control enable the "Speaker fill" option, this will send the sound to all available speakers. If this does not work or if the bass is low then enable bass management option and see if it works.

Yes,adding Bass management can make SW working.In asus xonar CP,there is the option of selecting SW crossover,when activated,I get Bass from SW in music.
Also if you are using foobar,add Channel mixer plugin which has bass management.

Or you can use players like Jet Audio which has in build Surround Processors (smililar to Prologic II) and give 5.1/6.1/7.1 channel audio out for music.

Back then, when i was using Winamp 2, there were add-ons available for 5.1 channel wave out. Then I came upon Jet Audio, which had inbuild 5.1 channel processing. Since then, jet audio became my primary music player.
