Dear all
I need some help regarding my room aesthetics.
So unfortunately in terms of room design and aesthetics i am not that blessed. When this house was built i wasnt even aware of what a home theatre system is so take it for what its worth :p.
Ill come to the problem real quick!

So there is some i feel hollowness to the sound at higher volumes. Since i have listened to my speaker and avr combo in different rooms i can tell that the sound is not being absorbed properly.

Also like when i have my room closed i can clearly hear when other people are talking outside. I feel the insulation is not good.

So as a test i started clapping in my room and i cud hear slight echo. So i went in every other room and performed the same exercise and i cud feel that other rooms had better absorption.
Currently i dont have much furniture in the room. Coz literally netflix and good system is all i need at the moment :p

Ill be attaching some pics so please help.
Your suggestions are welcome :)

I also have the exact problem. Only solution would be to go for acoustic treatment and sound proofing. Soundproofing is intended to minimize the level of sound that travels in and out of your room by blocking them with heavy, dense building material and sealing up any air gaps in windows/doors. Acoustic treatment on the other hand, aims only to control sound reflections within the room. For acoustic treatment you will need bass traps, acoustic panels and diffusers. The bass traps absorbs the low frequencies and the acoustic panels will absorb the mid/high frequencies. The remaining frequencies are scattered by the diffusers. This will definitely cost a lot. Do let me know if you managed to fix this problem so i can try the same method :)

I did a simple thing
My floor rug was like right in front of the speakers i placed it below my seating position. I did see little improvement in sound quality. Maybe its my brain i dont know but i feel little better. But ya theres much scope.
