Hello Guys,

I was about to make a stereo setup with budget around 1.2 L(Wharfedale Diamond 240 + Marantz PM6005) .. untill i came across Active studio monitors.

I somehow(Personally) feel active studio monitors sound better than Amp+Passive speakers combo.

Recently i am thinking of getting a Genelec 8010 Pair with one Genelec SUB + 1 Pre AMP DAC which has XLR out.

Am i missing something ? Please help me guys.

Thanks.

I have heard Genelec. Clarity and imaging are mindblowing. However, you are talking about a 2 lakh rupees+ setup here. Have you checked other options in this price range?

Adam Audio speakers are quite popular in pro-audio forums and are priced similar to Genelecs.

In passive speakers, I have read good things about Dali Ikon, MA Silver, Usher, etc.

I decided to go for M040 model of Genelec, it will cost me 1.3 Lacs pair.

Both 6.5 inch driver :)
